Overview

As part of our sustainable transport policy, Brent Council is progressively improving key walking routes to schools and making them safer for all road users, particularly for vulnerable road users such as children. This document outlines our proposals to improve pedestrian access to a number of schools close to Wrentham Avenue.

Why We Are Consulting

We have received a number of complaints from the local residents about the safety of pupils using Wretham Avenue to access local schools. Brent’s Travel Plan officers have also received regular concerns from local schools about the speed of vehicles and priority for children crossing Wrentham Avenue. In addition, there have been a number road accidents reported along this road. Over the last three years four personal injury accidents occurred, including one serious and 3 slight Injuries. Three of these involved pedal cyclists.
