KL ZONE PROPOSED CPZ

Closed 26 Mar 2021

Opened 5 Mar 2021

Overview

Controlled Parking Zone KL was implemented in 2007 following successful consultation with local residents and businesses. Although feedback so far has been satisfactory, last year the Council received a petition signed by over 50 residents in the area. They told us that they have been experiencing difficulties finding parking spaces and requested that the current shared use parking bays located in the area of Chamberlayne Road (between Leigh Gardens and the Hardinge Road) and on Leighton Gardens, Liddel Gardens and Whitmore Gardens are converted to residents only parking bays.

Why we are consulting

The Council is therefore proposing to convert existing shared use parking bays located along this  section of Chamberlayne Rd and, to the side on 146, 148, 166, 182 and 184 Chamberlayne Rd (shown by blue colour in the attached plan) to resident permit holders only parking spaces.

These proposed changes will prioritise parking to resident parking permit holders by removing the pay and display / pay by phone short term parking facilities.  Existing disabled parking bays and loading facilities will not be affected by this proposal.

Information about parking and permit charges in Brent is available on the Council’s Website; https://www.brent.gov.uk/services-for-residents/parking/

What happens next

The results of the consultation along with officer recommendations will be considered in a decision report, which will be published on our website. We will also write to inform you of the outcome.
