Hawkins Road/Church End Road Estate Area Scheme

Closed 30 Jun 2020

Opened 8 Jun 2020

Overview

The Council has received complaints about vehicles parked in the area as indicated in the attached drawing. The complaints are that parked vehicles cause obstruction, access and visibility difficulties for vehicles intending to access/exit particularly at the junctions. This is a problem particularly for the emergency services and collection services resulting miss collections.

Therefore, it is proposed to introduce short sections of no waiting ‘at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) in the area

Why We Are Consulting

The scheme is proposed mainly as a remedial measure, which will:

  • Prevent obstructive parking and localised congestion in the area;
  • Improve accessibility and visibility for all vehicles including emergency and essential services;
  • improve the traffic movement in the area;
  • Improve road safety in the area.
