Byron Court primary school was included in the Councils School Expansion programme, which has been delivered to accommodate the increasing number of children living in the borough.
The expansion programme of the school has now been completed and the Council would like your views on the proposal to install School Keep Clear Markings opposite the school gate, on Nathans Road.
School Keep Clear markings are shown as yellow zigzags outside of schools. This marking prohibits vehicles to park or even stop to set down passengers whilst the restrictions are in force.
Details of the proposed scheme and the area affected are shown on the enclosed drawings.
The aim of the scheme is to:
The proposal is to introduce a School Keep Clear marking opposite the school gate. Operational Monday to Friday 8am-9:30am and 2:30pm to 4:30pm. The markings will clear vehicle sight lines around the school entrance and the informal crossing point on the raised table. This will improve road safety, prevent obstructive parking near the school gates and improve crossing facilities for all pedestrians during peak periods.
This marking prohibits vehicles to park or even stop to set down passengers whilst the restrictions are in force.
